Zonealarm

I've been using Zonealarm for a long time on Windows 98SE. I have home
network with internet connection sharing (ICS). When I upgraded to Windows
XP, Zonealarm blocks acess to the internet on all the networked computers.
I've uninstalled zonealarm and am using the Windows Firewall now. I had no
problem with the computer connected directly to the internet, only the
computers connected through the ICS.

Is Zonealarm incompatible with Windows XP with a network?

Latest Zone Alarm (and previous versions) are OK with WinXP and networks.
If you are using the free version, you need to drop security to medium for
ICS to work though.

That's been true of all versions of ZA Free.

 

Yes, I know. I've been using ZA for a long time and I'm pretty familiar
with the required settings. So the issue of the security level was not the
problem.
