Xtreamlok Problem

Discussion in 'Computer Support' started by Gravydownshirt, Apr 4, 2004.

  1. For anyone out there who has had an Xtreamlok message or pop-up window and
had to close down a program or was unable to view media files..
This is some kind of anti-pirating thing, it appears, and, upon searching
the newsgroups I was given all kinds of solutions which ranged from deleting
files in the system 32 folder to scouring the registry in an attempt to find
    the culprit...
All to no avail and I was beginning to think only a re-format of the hard
    disk would save me.
Then ,by chance, I stumbled on something that enabled me to get my system
back to normal..A quite simple thing, actually.
I discovered that my system clock, time and date were set incorrectly...they
were about two or three months behind.
I have no idea how this could have come into effect (I certainly had not
done it) but , on resetting , I found I no longer had the Xtreamlok problem.
This worked for me but maybe it will help someone else too who is on the
verge of pulling out his hair or worse.....

Gravydownshirt astounded everyone with this perfectly punctuated
Thanks for sharing that .....one never knows when it will be needed and
it's so comfortable to be prepared. Let's see, what was that again? :)

  3. Well, ya gotta admit: it's in the Google archive, now, for someone who
might be having the same problem.

    Now, what's Xtreamlok? ;)
