Xp Pro to XP Pro X64 Migration Wizard fails (migwiz.exe)

I ran migwiz on XP Pro 32-bit, saving my old files and settings to a network
drive. No problem. Then did a clean install of XP Pro X64, and ran the 64-bit
migwiz to import my old 32-bit settings. That failed with an error message
complaining about the old settings (I think it said that they had been
produced under "an earlier version of Windows" or words to that effect.)

So -- my experience suggests that the 64-bit migration wizard does not
support importing the 32-bit settings? Can that be? If so, that's lame.

How can I import my old settings into X64?

  3. As the kb article Andre references points out, you need to update the Files
and Settings Transfer Wizard on XP Pro x86 before the transfer will work.
