Xdrive vs. GMX (very cheap web storage)

Is anybody here using the German 'web space provider' GMX (www.gmx.com)? Its
'TopMail' looks very tempting since one can get 1250 MB for 4,99 EUR per
month. Xdrive charges 9,99 US$ for 500 MB.
However, I am not sure whether these companies offer exactly the same...

I need to use FTP, and my colleagues and customers need to access my web
space as well to upload/download various types of files.
If you can read German, GMX also offers 20 MB of FREE web storage. It's
restricted to Germany and Austria, but if you 'borrow' a valid postal
address and telephone number in these countries (Internet phone book), you
will be accepted. That's what I did, and I reside in Japan.:)
It beats Yahoo's 4 MB freebie...

    Any opinion on this one?
