Works with encryption but not without

Discussion in 'Wireless Networks' started by femaleengineer, Nov 10, 2004.

  1. I have an unusual problem ( at least I see it as unusual). My wireless
connects me to our house network without any problems when the network is not
encrypted. As soon as the encryption is turned on, even though I have the
right key I cannot connect to the internet through the router. According to
the control panel>network connections>wireless connection icon, my wireless
card is not receiving any packets from the router. Yet I can't pin down the
    problem. any ideas?
The router is a belkin g adsl modem, 802.11g, 54Mbps. The wirelss card is a
    D-Link Airplus.
    Thanks

Uncheck enable IEE 802.x authentication for this network(enabled by default
    after applying SP2)
