Can anyone recommend a wireless access device and nics to connect into a
switch to allow a couple of laptops to be used on a home network.

    I use Netgear's
WG602 WAP and for the laptop WG511 both giving 802.11g and working quite
well (after finding the optimum siting for the wap)

Thanks Alan. Simply are doing an offer of half price WG511 NIC if bought
    with WG602 :)

That's where I got mine from with the same bargain <grin>
I run the WG602 via a dg814 and bought a long Ethernet cable, so the WG602
is the other end of the room with the DG814 in it.
