My friend has Windows XP. For some unknown reason her computer has begun to shut down and restart. This is the message she receives: "System shutdown. This system is shutting down. Please save all work in progress and log off. Any unsaved changes will be lost. This shutdown was initiated by NT AUTHORITY SYSTEM. (then a box with the time, 60 seconds) Time before shutdown: 60 seconds Windows must now restart. The Remote Procedure Call (RPC) Service terminated unexpectedly." Her computer shuts down, and then restarts, then in a few minutes the process starts all over. Any help would be appreciated. She hasn't updated or installed anything. The information in the Microsoft database pertains to Windows 2000, not XP, and is really confusing. Thanks, ntss
