Win XP Pro, "Applying Personal Settings" taking almoost 5 mins

Discussion in 'Computer Support' started by Blobby J Blobdom, Dec 8, 2003.

  1. Recently one or two of our machines on the network are taking an age
to get past the 'apply personal settings' stage of logon.

All machines are, to the best of my knowledge, virus clean with NAV
Live Update on auto, and are bang up to date with XP SP's and updates.

These machines have not been altered in any way and have been sitting
on the net happily for months.

    Any clues??

Does this only happen when connected to your LAN ?
What kind of network do u have. P2P or C/Server ?
Check firewalls especially if you have Zonealarm
this can be a bigger pain that its worth if not running right
Are all computers allocated an auto DHCP ?
