Will 32 bit apps I had installed in Windows XP 32bit operate on 64

I'd like to upgrade to Windows XP Professional 64 bit Edition, but don't know
if the 32 bit (or system32) applications I was running on Windows XP Home
Edition will operate on the 64 bit version. Please explain if I can somehow
upgrade the 32 bit .dll's to 64 bit (perhaps a download site). I understand
that I need to be more specific as to which apps I'm referring to.
I will be happy if I can use my 64 bit AMD Athlon to its full potential.
Thank you for any help/consideration to my question.
    Goodnight.

  2. There is no upgrade, it's a fresh install only. However, that being said,
you should be able to install your 32-bit applications if they don't have a
16 bit installer, and if they don't require a hardware driver (such as an AV
program or defrag utility or special printer.)
