we need to get a T1 up from our building to the building accross (5
    blocks down) (can't do wi-fi or run a fiber/cat5 - don't ask why)

I have couple of 1601's lying aroung (they have no WIC cards in them -
    empty slots)

is this doable with 1601's? from what I know about T-1,s all I need is
a router on each end with csu/dsu and then get sbc to do the wiring
for us and then we should be good to go.

also, what WIC card should I buy for this?

am I right? need to rtfm? what.. anyone...

    You can buy the WIC-1DSU-T1.

  3. Or you could just get an external CSU/DSU and use the built in sync port as
the 1601 is a serial -> Ethernet router and capable of running T1 speeds.

  4. how much do two external CSU/DSUs cost? You can get the WIC-1dsu-T1 for
under $200 each if you look hard.
