What do I need or need to do for wireless printing?

    I,ve got a Dlink 2455 wifi router connecting to an XP tower via ethernet
    with usb from tower to a Canon MX700 printer.
    Also afreestanding Asus Win7 laptop with wifi/bluetooth that connects via
    the dual band router wirelessly.
    At present if I have something to print on the laptop I email to myself and
    open it on the tower and print from there.
    I,m sure there is a more elegant way to print from laptop? I was thinking
    something local rather than via Google.
    Many thanks for replies. Printer has an ethernet port not used.

    I am assuming as you stated that both PCs are running Windows.

    You therefore use the Windows File & Printer Sharing feature.

    Turn on sharing on both PCs.
    Make sure they are both in the same work group.
    Share the printer on the tower.
    Connect to the printer from the laptop using the Network part of file
    explorer to explore the tower and find the shared printer.

    With Windows 7 you need to use the workgroup feature not the homegroup
    option.
    In my experience so far homegroups are not backward compatible with OS
    prior to W7.
