What Certification is for me?

The last MS cert I received was developing applications using C++ in 2002.
Since then I've been employed using various MS/VS technologies, primarily
Visual Basic (.Net2.0) and SQL2000-SQL2005, for creating applications on our
network that use SQL as a backend. I started studying for some of the SQL
stuff and then changed direction because 80% of my job is actually
programming and not managing the database backend (though I enjoy doing that
and wouldn't mind learning more about it). I have bought and read through
the MS 70-536 book but am still unsure whether I would pass it.. is this
still a good cert to start with? I'll probably end up trying to pass it
anyways, what would be a good 2nd step considering my background/work
    experience? Thanks! - Ryan

Hmmm.. perhaps I'm posting this in the wrong place. Maybe I can make the
    question easier to answer..

Are you a programmer of distributed apps? (.Net using SQL as the data store)
    Do you recommend any certifications?
