I have an HP with a built in Microphone and I got a web cam that also
has a built in mic. I am not sure why all mics stop working when I use
it with skype but it seems to me that they are conflicting with each
other. How do I turn one off? I have a Logitech Quick Cam. Please
    help if you can!!

    Start up Skype.
Select TOOLS then select OPTIONS and then select AUDIO SETTINGS.
Here you can select the required speaker and microphone.

On the the same screen you can also select "Make a free test call" to see if
you have indeed nominated the right microphone and speaker.
