USB 2.0 hub recognized as USB 1.1

    I have a Belkin USB 2.0 hub that's integrated into my desk. For the
    first several months I had it, I had no problem with it, but now all
    devices connected to it are recognized as connected via USB 1.1. I get
    the message "This device can work faster...". I'm (obviously) not sure
    what the problem is here, since I haven't changed my connection at
    all. Running XP SP2 on an Athlon 3000+.

    Device Manager, Enhanced USB controller ?.
    Remove it, see if XP re-finds it on re-start.

    Did that, didn't work. Still get the message. Forgot to mention that
    sometimes the USB hub randomly disconnects for 1-2 seconds and then
    reconnects. Might shed more light on the problem.
