[UK-Bug] News .. Plusnet

  1. I know some ISPs do that, but I very much doubt it would be
possible unless you signed up for a three year term on this
15 quid a month service. If the half-price activation deal
is available for this service from mid-January then there's
a chance (if passed on to PlusNet) that they'll pass on the
saving to end users. I guess you just have to wait and see
(and do without this service) until then, Chris. Peter M.

Videonetworks have been offering a 115k dsl connection for years now way
before it became fashionable and didn't charge £15 a month for it either ;-)

  4. Perhaps, under the Home Choice name, but surely that has been within a
fairly restricted area. Fine if you are served by them, but would they
ever have afforded a naional roll-out and keep a low price ? Peter M.

They had a huge customer base until they were shafted by the IP stream
wholesale price drop. Good job as well because they were the main contender
with ADSL originally. It's a shame really because the TV service was second
to none and still is as far as true VOD goes.

They were going national just over a year ago when they started to seek out
other server sites including Glasgow, Manchester, Birmingham etc.

watch this space I see them just around the corner again ;-)
