    Hello,

I need to get a new external drive and am thinking of getting one of those
external disc caddies and putting my own disc in (probably 120gig). I think
this is a cheaper option than buying a pre-made external drive. This disc
will be used on different comps, some have usb1 and others usb 2. If the
disc I get is usb2 and I plug it into a usb1 port, will the data speed be
less than the usb1 transfer rate, or the same? The reason I ask is that I
borowed a usb2 external disc from a friend and plugged it into usb1. It
seemed to go real slow, maybe slower than if I had a usb1 disc plugged into
a usb1 port. Would I be right in thinking this or is it my imagination?

    Thanks
