Toolbar 'pointers' are 5's and 6's and 8's???

    My fonts in windowsME have suddenly, on their own accord, decided to show
    certain letters as empty squares....like the 'wingding' font......also, the
    tiny up/down/right 'pointers' that vare on the toolbar icons such as 'back'
    , 'new message' and 'right' in the start menu are ALL now , funny looking
    5,'s for up
    6's for down
    and ,like a dead thin 8, for right choose (in the START window.....

    First of all, try booting into Safe Mode and back.
    This will clear your icon cache.

    If that doesn't help, you may have a corrupt
    marlett font. See:
