    Yeah well the guy was on a lengthy rant for sure. Written after a few cases
    of beers no doubt.
    While the use of the military in civilian policing is illegal, it is a
    wonder why the press didn't work this over any. I wonder though, could the
    sheriff legally deputize MP's for this purpose? Since the MP's only role
    was to deal with traffic, I don't really see an issue with it.

    Take a look in history and see how various National Guard units have been
    deployed to curb various things. Such as Ohio State. Gov. Rhodes deployed
    the guard to disperse the "unruly" demonstrating students.

    Would the guard fall under the PCA?
