There have been several similar cases - and there will be still more
similar ones whilst we continue to outsource such material. Things are
far from fireproof in the UK, but it is a question of probabilities - if
UK companies outsource to poor countries with low-paid employees where
temptation is at a maximum, and with a history of lax attitudes to
financial morality and law and order in general, the companies will
continue to get problems. UK companies must be made to keep such centres
in the UK where they are subject to UK law - so that when there is a
problem, it can be dealt with by our own Police and Courts. However bad
our legal system may be, it is still one of the best and most strict in
the world - albeit we could learn a lot from Singapore.
