    this message keeps appearing on my screen:
    Vet File Monitor has found that C:\System Volume Information\_restore{(blah blah
    blah)}\R{588\A0045171.exe is Win32.Coreflood trojan.

    i've scanned with vet; i've created a new restoration point in XP. still i'm getting
    the message. i can't even locate the folder in question on my pc, although i have
    "show hidden folders" checked.

    i've googled with limited success - thought someone here could save me hours of hair

    thanks ...

    'System Volume' indicates that the virus is in one of your
    A solution would be to turn-off system-restore, reboot, turn system-restore
    on again.
    You might well 'rerun your AV' again at this point to make sure the thing
    has gone.

    To turn-off/on the System-Restore (XP anyway);
    click 'start' button'
    click 'Control Panel'
    double-click 'System' icon
    click 'System Restore' tab
    put tick in/out of; "[ ] Turn off System Restore on all drives"
