Hi all. As I arrived home from work early yesterday morning I noticed the most fantastic sunrise in. So I dashed in to the house, grabbed the Canon 10D and rattled off a couple of snaps. I must admit I didn't think much more about them and went to bed for some well earned sleep. Anyway, later on I remembered the sunrise and decided to check out the pictures. One of them was truly beautiful - it captured the burning red sky perfectly and the houses in the foreground were cast into almost complete shadow to give only an outline with no detail. I did some minor tweaking in Photoshop - to completely darken the outline of the houses, removing any distracting detail like windows etc (I did this using Levels) and also to bring a bit more depth to the red sky (it didn't need a lot, I did it using Hue and Saturation on the Red Channel). Take a look at the picture and I would welcome any comments. The amount of post-processing really was quite minimal, this is how I remember that sky and I am so glad I have the picture to remind me of it.
