Hi I am currently studding for Exam 70–536 (first 1/2 of the MCTS .NET
    qualification).

Can someone please tell me if I will receive an MCP qualification after
    passing this exam?
I've read conflicting information on this.

The MSDN website states that passing any exam will give you an MCP,
Where I’ve read elsewhere that only passing the first exam of the MCTS will
not give you an MCP, you need to become an MCTS to become an MCP.

    Thanks in advance,
    -Iain

  2. If you are not an MCP (in other words you have not passed a single MS exam
yet) then yes passing the first one will give you MCP status.

You gain MCP by passing your first Microsoft MCP exam.
