Sub.interfaces on a E1 line

Discussion in 'Cisco' started by Øystein Berg, Aug 2, 2004.

  1. How do i split a E1 line to use timeslot 1-2 configured for one ip address
    and 3-30 for another.

    My guess was:
    serial2/0
    ip xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
    timeslot1-2
    ts16
    serial 2/0.0
    ip xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
    timeslot 3-30

Will this work, or are i way off:)

  2. To do this, you have to have a channelized E1 interface.
On most channelized E1 platforms (NM-*CE1*, AS5xxx, PA-*),
    you do it like this:

    controller e1 <blah>
    channel-group 1 timeslots 1-2 speed 64
    channel-group 2 timeslots 3-30 speed 64
    interface serial <blah>.1
    ip address w.x.y.z <mask>
    interface serial <blah>.2
    ip address w.x.y.z <mask>
