Running XP on Dell 8400. On bootup, I get a DESKTOP Notepad pop-up with
    the following: "[.ShellClassInfo]
    [email protected]%SystemRoot%\system32\shell32.dll,-21787"

I don't why the message nor how to rid it from the start sequence.

Right click your START button, select explore, open the programs and
view the startup, anything there that would cause that notepad to open
    up?

Update, your opening up your desktop.ini that's suppose to be in the
startup folder, maybe delete it and let it recreate itself.
