Has anyone run across a problem with the spoolsv process going crazy and
taking up all the cpu processes on a desktop machine? I did some searched
but all I've seen are mentions of terminal services that we don't use and a
virus, but the machine is clean. I can restart the service and things go
back to normal for a time but the next day or sometimes even later on in the
same day its back where it was.

    TIA

Spoolsv should not be sucking up CPU cycles for no reason. Trojans do
disguise themselves and piggy back off of something that is legit. You
may want to use Process Explorer that will allow you to look inside a
running process so you can see what's using the process.
