Something I noticed about Friends Season 8 DVD

    Hi all,

I was watching Friends episodes from the season 8 DVDs and something
seemed off about them. After a few episodes I realized what it was:
the episodes were re-edited to cut out any evidence of commercial
breaks. The fade outs, the fade ins and establishing shots were all
removed and the show just cuts from scene to scene. It does make the
episodes flow better but it was a little odd once I noticed it. Did
    anyone else notice this?

Haven't all seven previous sets pretty much been this way?

I noticed that the "flow" is a bit off when watching my Futurama DVDs.
The cuts between segments where there used to be commercials can be bit
abrupt. But I guess this is the case with any television show that finds
    its way onto DVD.

Actually no. Season 8 seems different. My guess was that this was
the first season they actually produced while they were producing the
DVD sets so they had the foresight to reedit the show.

  7. Yeah I noticed that the show is very lame,
much like that other overrated hogwash
    coming out this week "Seinfeld."

At least "Seinfeld" got one thing right -
the claim about the show being about
    nothing is 100% right.

I love you guys for offering your unsolicited opinions on what you think of
these shows. Say, can you tell us all about your favorite color, and why
    other colors suck?

Thank you! I was beginning to think that I was the only person on the face
of the Earth that thinks "Seinfeld" sucks. It's good to know that there is at least
one other person out there that still has a measurable IQ.

  12. I'm just a little unsure why someone would read and respond to a thread
about a show they didn't like. I'd consider that a waste of my time.

  13. Context is important. If somebody asks: 'How is that movie?' he is really
inviting criticism. If somebody asks: 'Is this movie available on DVD?'
he just wants to know about the DVD. It's obvious he likes the movie.

Why the hell are there always at least 2 nutcases standing up screaming:
'Man, that movie sucks like hell! Are you stupid??'

Do you sometimes just go into a movie theater and tell all the people in line
that the movie they are going to see really sucks... geez!

If I offended anyone then I'm sorry but my opinion remains the same.

No, but don't you think that wearing your opinion on your sleeve is kind of
    immature?

The thread was about a technical issue. Hearing your opinion on the show
was about as interesting as hearing about your favorite color, and about as
    welcome.
