sending photo`s via email

  1. I`m on ntl broadband 600k
    Taking pictures on my digital camera tiff or hq file format.
    When i go to send a photo using xp i ask windows to make the file smaller so
    it`s easier to send so how come when i send the photo to my self how come it
    takes so long up to 20 mins
    why is this ?
    is there some thing i`m doing wrong ?

    There's your problem. Tiffs are high quality but they're also BIG. If you want
    to send pictures by e-mail, convert a copy to .jpg format first. They'll still
    look ok, and will be very much smaller. Watch the size of the photo, too.
