SAP updates

    how does one reduce the frequency of sap updates. What interval is
    recommended Using ipx rip. Any other tweaks recommended. Cannot change
    to ipx eigrp.

    RIP/SAP updates happen every 60 seconds. Do not change the RIP/SAP update
    intervals unless you change it on every device that is using it. This
    includes not only the routers but also any Novell server the is running IPX.
    If you change the intervals on only the routers, you will have RIP/SAP
    stability problems. It is not recomended to change the intervals.

    IPX SAP & RIP update interval can be changed quite safely between
    routers on WAN links.

    As the previous poster has indicated do not chnge these on LAN links
    where Novell file servers are present
