Samsung Galaxy Tab

    By the way, I think the name “tab†comes from Xerox PARC (the home of the
    WIMP GUI). I remember in the 1980s they were working on a ubiquitous-
    computing environment; just as you don’t need to take pencil and paper with
    you to a colleague’s office (just use what they already have), you would be
    able to pick up whatever computing device they had, and your personal
    environment would automatically be loaded.

    The devices they were developing came in three sizes: “padsâ€, “tabs†and
    “boardsâ€. Pads and tabs were small enough to be carried, while boards were
    essentially whiteboard-sized screens.
