I have a Cisco 1605 router that connects my network to the internet.
My firewall reports that every 33 seconds it is pinged by the address
of the router. Does this mean that the router itself is pinging my
firewall? Or does this mean that someone outside the router is trying
to ping the firewall and it shows up in the log as the router because
all my internet traffic goes through it?

Any information anyone can offer would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Aaron

Cisco router interface has keepalive configured by defaukt. It should be 10
sec .... can you check and your router config again ... did anyone change it
    to 33sec.

    my guess.
