    There is nothing quite as satisfying as knowing that the CD-RW has finally been replaced as the most convenient way to store and transfer ~500MB worth of data and files. Okay, a CD-RW holds a little more than that, 650MB to be specific, but that isn't the point. Nowadays, we have solid state, nearly indestructible USB flash memory devices that fit neatly on your key chain between the home and car keys.

    News flash....

    ...I couldn't resist that subject line. Flash drive, news about it....get it?
    I wonder what would happen if we did a controlled large file transfer using stop watches on these drives. When you get into large file sizes, data corruption and error correction code (ECC) become issues to contend with. Is it worth doing a test with the devices on hand Silverstrand? :stupido3:

    i thought it was a misprint, but actually it isn't. Layard or Lanyard(lan-yard)
