Resetting The Counter.

Discussion in 'DVD Video' started by Patrick D. Rockwell, Jul 8, 2004.

  1. Is there a way to reset the counter on my TOSHIBA DVD-ROM SD-C2502 DVD
internal drive? I know that there are files
which can flash the drive to make my drive region free, but I'm just curious
if I can re-set the counter using software. For some
reason, my system says that I have 4 changes left instead of 5, but I don't
recall ever making any regtion changes. My DVD
player is still on region 1 as it always was. Thanks in advance.

It left the factory with 5 changes left but no region set, when you put
in a disc for the first time, in your case region 1, that counts as the
    first change.

  3. You are allowed to set the region 5 times. The initial set may count as
    one of those.
