Recovery on HP Pavillion zv5330us

    just wondering if anyone knows how i could restore computer to its original
    settings. it has been infected with a virus.no important data needs to be
    saved. how do you do it manully?

  2. You can look through your menu choices from the Start icon and there's
    usually an HP tools group. You can choose there to do a restore. Or you
    can simply restart the computer and press F10 after the first beep to
    get the restore options. A "destructive" restore removes all the crap
    first, non-destructive leaves the old files.

    Now, why would you want to reinstall the OS if all you have is one
    virus? Why not remove it?

    You must remove the virus.
    Assuming you have XP and you mean a full system reset - this won't
    necessarily solve the virus problem. What makes you think it is a virus
    was it your anti-virus software alert? If so why not use your software?
