READ THIS: Having x64 Trial Download Issues?

The Microsoft Windows XP x64 trial download website is not currently
working. Microsoft is aware of the issue. Your patience is appreciated.
Posting about this problem is no longer necessary.

Seriously, the more that post about this issue, the more Microsoft will
realize that this is not just a fringe group that is wanting the download.

Actually Rafael is right, there is no need to continue to clutter the group
with more posts on the same topic.
We are aware fo the issue and working to resolve it.

OK... but would not it be better to remove the download option until you
fixed it?
This way you would prevent stupid people like me trying every 3 - 4 hour in
the hope 'this time will be the good one'!

Well HERE'S a thought.. why don't you post a little disclaimer on that
download page so people don't have to clutter up the newsgroup here.

Clutter? Since when did comments on a public newsgroup become clutter,
even if the posts seem to be redundant? Everyone should have a chance to
submit his or her ideas on a public forum, as long as it fits the mores of
the majority of the users. Right?

 

Of course, you're right, no problem whith that.... but when those who are
here to answer the posts will leave the ng just because they're fed up to
write the same thing over and over again, you'll be alone here to post
whatever you want....

Right ?

 

If they were constructive or relevant comments then I would agree. But,
repeat posts on a topic that we have acknowledged is an issue for everyone
are clutter, as we do not need to see how many posts as some metric of scale
of problem since we know it is a fail for all.
The fact that people are continuing to post on this and new threads is only
adding to the "noise" level in the group that is detracting from those with
posts that can be answered.
(It also continues to highlight the fact that posters do not bother to look
at the group for a similar post to the one there are about to make that may
already have the answer on it - as is the case with these posts.)
