    Hi Toby,

Not all laptops have wireless cards. What's the make a model of laptop? Does it have built in wireless, ar are you using a PCMCIA card? Does the wireless card display in Device Manager? Is the driver installed correctly?

Assuming that is all OK, many laptops have a physical switch to turn the wireless on and off. Is it turned on?

    Hope this helps.
