    I have xp pro on partition 1 of a hard drive and 64 on partation 2. I
    installed xp pro first installed all drivers software ect... Then attempted
    to install 64. Install for 64 went fine booted up into windows and
    everything. Took 64 cd out restarted and it went straight into xp pro with
    giving me the option for dual boot. Checked the boot ini file in xp pro and
    there is only the string for xp pro under operating systems. 64 will on boot
    up if i put the 64 cd in cd rom restart and dont click boot from cd. Where it
    says "press any key to boot from cd" The cd knows how to start 64 but neither
    my computer or i do. I think to problem is with the boot ini file. It seems
    like 64 didnt create a bootini file. Help me please. Also attempted to
    reinstall 64 and still no luck. Please Help.

    If the problem is the boot.ini file, try this one. It has exactly the config
    you describe.

    [boot loader]
    timeout=5
    default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS
    [operating systems]
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Windows XP Professional x64
    Edition" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
    multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP
    Professional SP2" /fastdetect
