Preparing for 272 after passing 271

Discussion in 'MCDST' started by Richard Smith, Jul 7, 2005.

  1. I’ve worked as a support technician for little over two years and passed the
MCDST Exam 70-271 with relative ease after approximately 25 hours of study
with the Microsoft Self-Paced Training Kit book and CD-ROM paced over two
    months.

Could anyone who has taken and passed both of these exams first time round
after studying by a similar method (i.e. no additional support from a tutor
etc) comment on if they found the 70-272 exam easier than the 70-271 exam.

I’ve purchased the Microsoft Self-Paced Training Kit, book and CD-ROM for
70-272 and have had a quick flick through it. It seems to me that the content
is easier still to grasp than 70-272 and almost feel I could attempt the exam
    without any self study.

I realise I have the Readiness review suite but feel this gives an
inaccurate evaluation of understanding as the three times I used it leading
up to 271 at the beginning, mid-period and the day before my test it scored
me at 40%, 90% and 50% respectively, yet I found the real test itself
    relatively easy.

Thanks in advance for any help or advice those who have taken the exams can
    offer.

  2. Richard - did the self paste 271 come with measure up software cd questions?
were they a realistic version of the actual test? harder?

    feedback welcome.
