Is it possible to ping the outside interface of the PIX from an inside host,
assuming a translation exists for the inside host and the ACL allows for it?
This is because I have a monitoring software that polls router interfaces
    for reachability.

    TIA.

In version 6.x you can only ping the nearest interface I think. I certainly
can't ping my external interface from inside the network.
