PCI Simple Communication Control Device Driver Not Installed

Discussion in 'Computer Support' started by reynaldo enriquez, Aug 2, 2004.

  1. Hello there!

I'm having difficulty getting my modem work on my older computer after
I had it reformatted and installed Win2000 in it. When I get into Control
    Panel/Device Hardware I noticed that Others/Devices/PCI Simple
Communication Controller Device Driver had a yellow Exclamation Point
saying that PCI Communication Device Driver is not installed. (PCI Slot 1,
device 14, function 0,) I tried to install the driver via C:\Windows and
original CD on d: but can't
find the driver. Could you please HELP me! Thanks.

Why are you trying to install the drive from C:\Windows?

You need the driver disk that came with the modem, if
    Windows doesn't supply one. RTFM.

Actually there is no this kind of driver.
I solved the same problem in my computer. The reason is wrong bios was installed. I flash my bios by different award.exe and .bin files.
Interestingly the bios of similar mainboard models can be installed each others and evolves this error.
