I have a Windows 2003 Server that I just purchased from Dell. It came with one partition for the Operating system with only 12 GB. The other partition for data has 532 GB. I prefer to run with only one partition. Does anyone know if there are any real reasons to run more than one partition anymore? I have a RAID 5 array and an autoloader with constant backup, so I'm not real concerned with crashes and losing data because of it. I have been told by one source that the paging file must be on a separate partition from the data, but that just doesn't make sense to me.

    Thanks,
    Jeff

I guess partitions aren't really necessary anymore. I'm going with just one. I'll let you know if there are any issues.
