Outlook Express crashes itself doing nothing

    Hi Darrel!

Now I'm travelling until weekend and using Opera on notebook. But this
weekend and next days I'll do more in-depth test about that.

Main news servers are microsoft.com for MS newsgroups, individual.net for
other general ones, and some private-friends servers. I do not watch
private messages because I read all, but in MS and individual I should
have at least two or three watched threads.

  2. Hello,
The ask is to attempt to repro the issue. So if it's reproduceable with
    specific threads on specific newsgroups,
Knowing that helps us look into this.
When you get to it let me know.
    Thanks,
    Darrell Gorter[MSFT]

I've reduced the problem to two news servers and three groups with some
    inspected threads.

You can download the file at
http://www.telefonica.net/web/rfog/USMT2.UNC.ZIP . This is an exported OE
stuff made with Wizard Transfer (about 2,5 Mb). If it does not restore
news files, I've added the store folder manually in the tranfer manager
    options.

Steps to see the crash are:
    -Launch OE and maximize it.
-Wait until it crashes in self downloading (it is programmed each 5
minutes, it crashes in a 1/2 hour).

The news servers are public servers and public groups.

Windows is Windows XP Professiona x64 fully upgraded with windows update.
    Installed software is:
-Visual Studio 2005 Professional (MSDN Version), only C# and C++ (full)
    and no SQL.
-Office XP Spanish full installed and fully upgraded
-Virtual Server 2005 R2 (The free one) with no Virtual Machines running.
    -Nero 7 last version.
-Acronis Disk Director and TrueImage Home last versions
    -7zip, an opensource zip manager.
    -Microsoft Keyboard 5.2 x64
    -Mobipocket reader
-NVidia Last Video Drivers for x64
-Gigabyte K8N-SLI last drivers from gigabyte web (no harware firewall
    instaled).
-Realtek Sound Manager driver (from Gigabyte).
    -NOD 32 last version
    -Ad-aware free last version
    -Opera 8.54
    -Skype 2.0 last version
-Sid Meyer's Civilization IV fully patched.
-Debugging tools for w 64 bits
-Plat SDK Win Server 2003 R2 from MSDN DVD
-Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC SDK
    -Active sync 4.1 (sometimes I connect a DELL X51V).
