I choke, my wallet chokes, my D70 & D200 choke.
Then with a smile I reflect those who might enter into this transaction
must have a deep need nobody on this forum could satisfy!! ??

Big deal. I got a Canon Fast 50mm f/1.8 and you can "Buy It Now" for
$5K if it makes ya feel better.

How can it be legendary when it is real and existing?
    Your sig. is still broken.

  8. Yes it is, and he will probably get his asking price even if it means
relisting it several times. You have to admit that boy's got a big set of
macadamias for trying to push the bar this high since the current going
price is $3,600. The old Noct surely will break the $4,000 mark before the
    end of the year.

  10. Guess I shouldn't have sold mine so cheap...;-)
I was not very impressed with my Noct wider
than f5.6 (and any of my cheaper Nikon 50s were
better 2-3 stops wider). The photo in the eBay
sale points out another of its problems - the lens
front or something else in the lens is too small for
its speed, FL, and optical design, resulting in
off-axis light cut-off until the lens is stopped down.
All of the above make me wonder why anyone
would want this only slightly faster lens than the
excellent Nikkor 50mm f1.4 (really nice at f2)
enough to pay a small fortune for it. Now, the
6mm retrofocus, that I can see - though even
with that, it is so impractically large and heavy
that the older non-retro 6mm may be worth
having for the $3k I sold that one for...;-)

He has a bunch of other lenses listed at what look like unrealistic
prices, at least for sure, maybe not for the Japanese collector
market. Except for some special exotic lenses (58/1.2, 24/1.4), MF
Nikkors (even good ones) have tremendously dropped in value.

What's that sound I hear? Why, I do believe it is the sound of Rita's
    bubble bursting!

It'll take more than that - "Rita"'s "Super-Noct" bubble is made of
Lexan Polycarbonate bullet-resistant material (cue RichA here [sorry]),
which defies penetration by truth or fact except at hyperspatial
velocities, the implementation of which have not yet been achieved in
    these groups.

  14. Yes, but then again he's not in a hurry to sell so he will sit on them till
the right person sees them. I really don't think these lenses have lost any
    value.

  15. LOL! The sound you're hearing is the sound of me laughing my ass off! That
"description" wasn't even valid or worthy enough to entertain a response of
me calling it pure unadulterated bullshit.

With performance that poor, it's no wonder that so many of those Nocts
are turning up on the used market.

That's an assertion, backed by no evidence.

Indeed the fact that it hasn't sold at this price
    is evidence against your assertion.

Sure, but you're an idiot who does portraits of dog turds, so it's no
big surprise that you aren't any good at pricing lenses.
