Got the announcement. All my pics are posted as I get 'em here, so you know where to find 'em, if not just visit my site (how about posting on my site guys? Huh? Maybe?)
I should have the Necro completed in the art department by the holidays, getting parts for it, that I dunno. Maybe, can't say for sure.

    I think it's ok....

...to post an announcement of our holiday screensaver on your site. They would need to join this site to have their pictures included in the screensaver, and it's a member recruitment bonanza for us. However, if nobody visits your site, it's a moot point. Do you have folks stopping by your site?

    Do what's necessary...

.....we have recently acquired a few new members. I wonder if the new screensaver idea has brought them aboard? :p

Well I gots me a link on IC to this site, but anyone can submit a news item, if ya wanna, go for it. Gotta register there to do it though. You can use HTML in the news submissions too.
Suggestion for the next one, something that I thought of watching it today. Could you group the mods into sections by the name of the mod and have a sort of intro splash screen for each mod and its maker?
I'd be happy to design custom splash screens for each section if you wanna do it that way. It'd be more dramatic.

    It is possible....

....but that would remove the random nature of the picture ordering. Maybe we could have a "case mods" section, a "reviews section", and things of this nature. Or we could organize it by member name, or the mod name as you suggest. Again, randomness is gone, so you always see them in the same order, and it always starts from the beginning.
To save us extra work, we could ask for each member submitting their pictures to include an intro picture, maybe something with their picture in it.

sounds good. maybe we orta steer past programs to make screen savers and make them from code :D then we could compress all the pictures into a file and zip it. bringing it down alot.

    No thanks....

....I'll stick with the current screen saver builder program. I like it quite a bit, and it works well. :p

Well, randomize just the pics in each category by the mod. So like, show the splash for "X" mod, then show a random selection of that mod's pics, then go to "Y" mod and so forth.

    Nope.

You either randomize them all, or you randomize none. There is no middle ground that I'm aware of. :ahhhh:

Oh great, a top down 1980's era scrolling screensaver. Just what we need.

    I like my program....

....and I don't plan on changing it. There are many transistion effects. Open up your display properties, select the screen saver properties, and try out some of the other effects. Just because the pictures are either all in order or all random is not a big deal. If we name them properly, and order them properly, maybe we can get the groups to show up together, just not randomly within the group. :p

Hmm, dunno man, I don't do screensavers. Actually I haven't used one in years since they're basically pointless for the past decade. I imagine that Vista will likely not even have a screensaver ability.

    What's wrong with...

....displaying images that fill the screen with cool pictures? I get comments all the time at work for a test machine I have on a back table that runs one of my orchid screensavers when it's not being used. :p
Sure beats looking at the windows desktop or a blank screen.

Or text that scrolls across and says "T Minus 1 Hour Til Detonation". :)
No, it's just that they're not really screensavers anymore, they're just little picture demos or something. I mean, what are you saving your screen from in this day and age? There's no more screen burn-in problems.
