New type of pop up??

    Over the last few months, I've noticed I'm getting a strange type of
    pop up that covers the whole page with a somewhat opaque film, usually
    showing a photo of sorts.

    I operate with my page color set to a more eye relaxing shade of light
    tan rather than the glaring white of most pages. This means I cannot
    see where the dang OFF switch is to get rid of the pop up. My
    question is, what is this new type of PITA that someone has come up
    with? I am using Adblock Plus and Better Privacy add ons with
    Firefox 3.6.13. What add on, if any, can I use to keep this nonsense
    from coming up and covering the page I'm trying to read?

    I am also using Firefox but I have never seen this kind of Problem. Could you please tell me which version you are using?
