New Releases: X2 X-Men United, Legally Blonde 2: Updated complete downloadable R1 DVD DB & info list

    On November 25th Fox has something for the mutant in all of us. X2: X-Men
    United will hit the shelves in a two disc special edition. Bowing to the
    common trend there will be both a Pan & Scan (UPC 024543092063) and
    anamorphic 2.35:1 (UPC 024543091974) version of the release. Both will
    feature both Dolby 5.1 and DTS audio. Listed for the extra features at this
    point are: "Nightcrawler Attack" interactive multi-angle scene study;
    "Wolverine/Deathstrike Fight Rehearsal"; In-Depth, Behind The Scenes
    Exploration; "The Second Uncanny Issue of X-Men"; The Ultimate Making of
    Documentary; Extraordinary X2 Featurettes, including - "The Secret Origin of
    X-Men"; A Complete Anthology; "Nightcrawler Reborn": The Adventure Before
    X2; "Introducing the Incredible Nightcrawler" Character Study; "FX2"
    Spectacular Visual Effects Guide; 11 Deleted/Extended Scenes; 26 Revealing
    Still Galleries; Theatrical Trailers. Suggested price is $29.98.

    For only $10 more Fox is also releasing on November 25th X-Men Collection 4
    Disc Set. Again, both P&S (UPC 024543099666) and anamorphic (UPC
    024543099635) versions will be released. The four disc set combines X-Men
    1.5 and the new X2 sets in one package. All technical specifications and
    extras are the same as the single films versions.

    Universal will release several animated flicks as part of their growing
    'value pack' series. These Dreamwork films are repackaged from the original
    single film releases and have the same technical specs and features as their
    predecessors. For $29.98 you can select Antz/Chicken Run Value Pack,
    Joseph: King of Dreams/Prince of Egypt Value Pack, Sinbad: Legend of the
    Seven Seas (Fullscreen) or Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron/The Road to El
    Dorado Value Pack. If you are willing to spend $74.99 you can get Dreamworks
    Family Animated Movie Collection (Spirit / Antz / Chicken Run / Road to
    Eldorado) on that date.

    Some of the Trimark November releases have been announced. On November 4th
    Anna Nicole Show: Season 1, Robocop: Crash & Burn and Robocop: Resurrection
    will street. Following on November 11th is Dust and then Swindle on November
    18th and Cheerleader Ninjas rounding things off on November 25th.

    Some music for all tastes by means of BMG. On September 23rd; Jane's
    Addiction: 3 Days, Sammy Hagar: Long Road To Cabo and Allman Brothers Band
    Live At The Beacon. September 30th brings Martina McBride: Martina. Finally
    two 5.1 releases come out on October 7th; Bob Marley: The Legend Live and
    INXS: Live Baby Live.

    MPI releases a series of Sherlock Holmes classic films featuring Basil
    Rathbone on November 25th. Each disc is $19.98 and includes Sherlock Holmes:
    The Spider Woman, Sherlock Holmes: The Scarlet Claw, Sherlock Holmes: The
    House Of Fear and Sherlock Holmes: The Pearl Of Death. These can also be had
    as a set for $69.98 in Sherlock Holmes Collection Volume 2. Also on that
    date is Dark Shadows Set #9 for $59.98


    Ventura is releasing a series of DVDs in November for those interested in
    the new extreme sports; skateboarding, snowboarding and biking. On November
    11th you'll find My Way To The Record, Snow Files, Streets: San Francisco,
    Next Invasion and Bar To Bar 2002 each for $19.98. On November 4th Tony
    Hawk's Trick Tips (Box Set) will be available for $29.98. Fight Club meets
    reality TV with the October 7th release of Fights: A Bare Knuckle Video.

    Goldhil Home Media has still more anime. Yu Yu Hakusho: Sword And Dragon
    (Edited) and Yu Yu Hakusho: Sword And Dragon (Uncut) will be released on
    October 7th with Dragon Ball GT: Salvation (Uncut) and Dragon Ball GT:
    Annihilation (Uncut) following on October 14th.

    MGM/UA will release Legally Blonde 2 (Special Edition) on November 4th. This
    sequel to Legally Blonde will feature anamorphic 1.85:1 video and Dolby
    5.1/Surround audio. Among the announced extras are Deleted Scenes; Outtakes;
    Music Video: "We Can" by LeAnn Rimes; Cast Audio Commentary; "Welcome to
    Delta Nu" Interactive Quiz; "Blonde Ambition Featurette; Photo Gallery. The
    suggested price tag is $27.95.

    For those of us that remember the Grateful Dead concerts Monterey will
    release Grateful Dead: Closing Of Winterland on November 11th. Filmed in
    1978 the DVD has Dolby 5.1 and DTS audio with full frame video. The
    announcement contained the following extras as included; Collector's Booklet
    with Color Photos; Exclusive Interviews; Bonus footage; Blues Brothers Band
    Songs (John Belushi, Dan Aykroyd, Donald "Duck" Dunn, Paul Schaefer); New
    Riders of the Purple Sage Photo montage with audio; Winterland History with
    color & B/W archival photos; Archival interviews from 1978, photos,
    newspaper items; Detailed history of Grateful Dead at Winterland Photo
    Gallery; Winterland documentary film.
