New Releases: WB Genre packs, Ingmar Bergman: Updated complete downloadable R1 DVD DB & info lists

    Warner Brothers continues the multi-title pack trend with some genre
    oriented collections in their 'Best' series. Each set contains four films,
    posses the technical specifications of the original individual releases and
    will retail for $65.92. So far they at least look to be collections that
    make some sense together and my be just the thing for new collectors that
    want to boost their collections. Release date is set for December 2nd,
    Included so far are;

    Also from Music Video Distributors: Hard Rock Legends and Uriah Heep: Three
    Sides both set for January 20th with a list price of $44.95 each.

    Just in from the Buena Vista studio rep, the Walt Disney Treasures series is
    being postponed until May 18, 2004. Included are Chronological Donald,
    Volume 1 (1934-1941), Mickey Mouse in Living Color: Volume 2, Tomorrowland:
    Disney in Space and Beyond and Walt Disney On the Front Lines.

    Also postponed, until an unspecified date is VH1/InsideOut: Warren Zevon:
    Keep Me In Your Heart from Koch, originally set for release on December 9th.

    MGM/UA has a blitz of announcements for releases set for early next year. On
    February 3rd they have Allan Quatermain & The Lost City Of Gold, Death Wish
    2, Death Wish 4, Flesh & Blood, Roadhouse 66, X-15 and the 1983 television
    mini-series Thorn Birds. It will run $29.98 while all the rest will retail
    for $14.98.

    On February 10th MGM has announced something for fans of Ingmar Bergman with
    the release of Ingmar Bergman DVD Collection (Special Edition) for $112.95,
    Serpent's Egg (Special Edition) and Shame (Special Edition) for $24.95 each.

    Also on February 10th from MGM are Cyrano De Bererace, La Chamade
    (Heartbeat) and Mystery Of Rampo retailing at $19.95 each. For the kids on
    February 17th they have Hello Kitty: Plays Pretend and Hello Kitty: Tells
    Fairy Tales as well as the more adult drama That Championship Season. Each
    has a suggested price of $14.95.

    From Music Video Distributors on December 9th; Progressive Rock: Ultimate
    Collection and Status Quo: Live Legends. On December 16th the have Coasters:
    LIVE From The Palace Of Auburn Hills and This Holy Night. Some late
    announcements for November 25th include Champion Jack Dupree: Blues #1,
    Clarence Gatemouth Brown: Blues, Clark Terry / Duke Jordan: Live At
    Montmartre, Duke Ellington: 1929-1943, Eddie Lockjaw Davis: Live At The
    Jazzhus, Lennie Tristano: Copenhagen Concert, Mills Brothers Story, Monterey
    Jazz Festival (1975), Rockin' Dopsie & The Zydeco: Live At The Maple Leaf,
    Steps Ahead: Copenhagen LIVE Legend, Swing #1, Tribute To Charlie Parker:

    Some additional announcements from Image. Latin Music great Celia Cruz:
    Azucar! will be released on January 27th for $24.99. It features Dolby 5.1
    and DTS audio. Sara Miles and Kris Kristofferson star in the steamy Sailor
    Who Fell From Grace With The Sea being released on January 27th with mono
    audio and anamorphic 1.85:1 video. The list price is $19.99. Founder of the
    Lilith Fair Sarah McLachlan has VH1 Storytellers episode coming to DVD on
    January 6th. It will have Dolby 5.1 and DTS for a suggested price of $24.99.
    For fans of the singing cowboy genre they have two Gene Autry flicks Back In
    The Saddle and Under Fiesta for $19.99 each. Film buffs may enjoy Magic Of
    Fellini due out on January 27th for $19.99. For car racing fans they have
    Best Motoring: Drift Bible, Best Motoring: New M3 Takes On JDM Super Sports!
    and Best Motoring: The Evo Strikes Back coming out on January 20th for
    $19.99 each. Rounding things off are Kings Of Hip Hop: The Founders on
    January 13th and Sir Mix-A-Lot: Shhhh... Don't Tell 'Em That on January

    Stop by for a complete downloadable information list of all region one DVDs
    in several formats as well as daily changes. The official list now features
    35,452 titles with 382 additions or changes and 223 Pre-Release
    announcements. The All Titles list has 35,675 titles. Recent releases
    include: Last Week 268, This Week 232 and Next Week 389 titles.
