New Releases: Mighty Wind, Sequels & Bob Marley: Updated complete downloadable R1 DVD DB & info list

    Universal has the latest Christopher Guest 'mockumentary' a Mighty Wind set
    for release on September 23rd. Featuring Dolby 5.1 audio and anamorphic
    1.85:1 video the extras include commentary by Christopher Guest and Eugene
    Levy, 15 additional scenes and a number of Easter eggs all for $27.95.

    The music division of Universal has some 'classic' music for release on July
    29th. Bob Marley And The Wailers:Legend: The Best Of Bob Marley and
    Carpenters: Interpretations will hit the shelves. They also have Paul
    McCartney: Paul Is Live In Concert (with 5.1 audio) due out on August 12th.

    A&D Vision continued the piece-meal release of Mutant X with Mutant X:
    Season 1: Volume 4 (Special Edition) due out on September 16th for $24.98.

    Fox has the Renee Zellweger/Ewan McGregor attempt at recreating the old Rock
    Hudson/Doris Day romantic comedies, Down With Love set for release on
    October 7th for $27.98. Along with Dolby 5.1 and either P&S or anamorphic
    2.35:1 video the extras are currently listed as commentary by Director, 5
    Deleted scenes, "Here's to Love" music video, "Guess My Game" segment, cast
    screen test, HBO special and 7 Featurettes.

    A new studio checks in, Catcom Home Video. They appear to be mostly older
    public domain faire but at a list price of $6.65 each some may find a gem or
    two worth the price. They have a series of double features complete with
    cartoons and shorts to recreate the old theater experience. Among these
    titles are Elizabeth Taylor Double Feature: Father's Little Dividend / The
    Last Time I Saw Paris, God Told Me To / Carnival Of Souls (Double Feature),
    Jimmy Stewart Double Feature: Made For Each Other / Pot O' Gold, Van / C.B.
    Hustlers (Double Feature), Fists Of Fury / Tale Of The Dragon (Bruce Lee
    Double Feature), Dressed To Kill / Terror By Night (Double Feature), Abbott
    & Costello Double Feature: Africa Screams / Jack And The Beanstalk, Little
    Shop Of Horrors / The Terror (Double Feature) and a number more.

    For western fans Catcom has Outlaw / Angel And the Badman, Abilene Town /
    Hell Town (Double Feature) and Blue Steel / The Lucky Texan / Man From Utah
    (John Wayne Triple Feature).

    For fans of silent flicks Catcom has Charlie Chaplin Episodes / Buster
    Keaton Episodes (5 Episodes), Birth Of A Nation, General / College (Double
    Feature) and Metropolis / The Wizard Of Oz (Silent Cinema Double Feature).

    Rounding out the Catcom blitz are Classic TV Commercials #1, Classic TV
    Commercials #2 and Classic TV Commercials #3 featuring those old commercials
    so many of us grew up with. Hitler's SS: Portrait In Evil and UFO's...
    They're Here!. All Catcom releases are due out on August 12th and go for
    $6.65 each.

    Music Video Distributors has some releases for music fans. September 9th
    brings Avril Lavigne - Skater Girl Unauthorized, Jennifer Lopez -
    Unauthorized and Saxon - Rock Has Landed: It's Alive. Following on October
    7th will be Southlander: Diary of A Desperate Musician.

    Artisan will release the Cuba Gooding Jr. comedy Boat Trip on September
    23rd. There will be two versions, the Rated version which will be in Pan &
    Scan and the Unrated which will feature anamorphic widescreen 1.85:1 video.
    Both have 5.1 audio. Both versions will have a commentary with director and
    Gooding, subtitle trivia track and deleted scenes. The suggested cost is
    $26.98.

    It seems that this is the time for Christmas flicks to be announced. Artisan
    has Christmas Box / Timepiece, Christmas Comes To Willow Creek, Mrs. Santa
    Claus, One Christmas, Christmas Story Keepers and Christmas Visitor due out
    on September 23rd.

    September 23rd also brings a slew of low budget sequels from Artisan.
    Included in this release set are Howling V: The Rebirth / Howling VI: The
    Freaks, Kickboxer 3: The Art of War / Kickboxer 4: The Aggressor, Prom Night
    III: The Last Kiss / Prom Night IV: Deliver Us from Evil, Watchers /
    Watchers II and Waxwork / Waxwork II: Lost in Time for $14.95 each.

    Artisan has been busy with September 23rd releases. Also on that date are
    Love Relations, Men Seeking Women, Miami Models, Silent Night, Strange
    Affair, Sucker Punch and To Save The Children.

    Brentwood has plans for several multi-disc theme sets. Included are Ancient
    Evil: 10-Movie Set, Bad Azz Mo-Fos: 4-Movie Set, Galactica: 10-Movie Set,
    Outlaws: 4-Movie Set and Thin Line Between Life & Death, A: 10-Movie Set.
    All are set for release on August 5th.

    New Line has Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Collection ready for release on
    September 16th for $39.93.

    From MGM/UA October 7th will bring Straight Out Of Brooklyn, Whales Of
    August and (formerly discontinued) Impluse.
