New Releases: Ed Wood, Rain Main & Anime: Updated complete R1 DVD DB & info lists

    The special edition of Ed Wood has finally been taken off the postponed list
    by Buena Vista. The new release date is listed as February 10th. One odd
    thing about the revived release it does have a different UPC number than the
    cancelled. The previous version was 786936072815 while the new one is
    786936212501. The release does, according to the initial announcement, look
    to be Dolby 5.1 with anamorphic 1.85:1. No extras were included in this
    early announcement, hopeful a follow up from the studio will be forthcoming.
    The list price was given as $29.99.

    MGM/UA have several titles due out early next year. On February 3rd they
    have Death Wish 3, King Solomon's Mines and Rain Man (Special Edition).
    Following on February 10th are Hour Of The Wolf (Special Edition), Passion
    Of Anna (Special Edition) and Together. Most look to be widescreen although
    anamorphic has not been confirmed as of yet.

    Red Distribution has something for fans of Asian action flicks. On December
    2nd they have Black Belt Theatre (Collection) and Eastern Heros (Collection)
    (for $29.98 each) as well as Magnificent Bodygrounds, Rumble In Hong Kong
    and Snake In The Eagle's Shadow for $14.98 each. Also from Red Steve
    Forbert: From The Front Row Live and Teddy Pendergrass: From The Front Row
    Live, $17.95 due out December 9th, retail price and Yes: Symphonic Live
    (CD/DVD Set) set for next week, November 18th at $24.95.

    On January 20t Artisan will release Belly (Special Edition DVD/CD) featuring
    Dolby EX audio and anamorphic video for $26.95. Also on that date are Black
    Horizon, Babar: The Movie, Dinotopia (The Series) and Double Agent. In
    addition on the same date a few yoga discs including Wai Lana Yoga:
    Beginners Workout, Wai Lana Yoga: Toning Workout and Wai Lana Yoga: Wake-Up
    Body. January 27th brings House Of The Dead with Dolby EX audio and
    anamorphic video as well as Bab's Day and Musical Baby.

    Central Park has some Wednesday releases for the anime collector. Included
    are Record Of Lodoss War: Book 2 - Lady Of Pharis on January 7th, Miss Me
    (Anime Book) on January 14th, Alien Nine: Emulators (Anime Book) on February
    4th, Just A Girl: Book One (Anime Book) on February 11th, Slayers: Return
    (Anime Book) on March 3rd and Nadesico: Book Two (Anime Book) on March 17th.

    Just announced from A.D. Vision are several anime titles. Set for January
    13th; Saiyuki: The Gods Of War - Volume 7, Pretear: Volume 2, Slayers Great
    and Angelic Layer 3. January 20th brings Princess Nine: The Complete
    Collection, Steam Detectives: Case 3, Saint Seiya: Volume 3, Darkstalkers:
    Battle Storm and Rune Soldier 6: Louie Punch. On January 27th All Purpose
    Cultural Cat Girl: Nuku Nuku Dash - Mode Three, Final Fantasy: Unlimited -
    Phase 3 and Super Gals!: Rule #4 - Look Out! Love Is Dangerous. Rounding
    things out on February 3rd are Neon Genesis Evangelion: Director's Cut,
    Knights Of The Zodiac: The Power Of Pegasus - Volume 1, Magical Shopping
    Arcade Abenobashi 2, Samurai X: OVA Collection and Crying Freeman: Complete
    Collection.

    A.D. Vision also has Mutant X: Season 1: Volume 8 (Special Edition) due out
    on January 13th for a list price of $19.98.

    Listed as postponed by Music Video Distributors: 12 O'Clock High: Vols. 1 &
    2: Complete Sessions, Joan Jett And The Blackhearts: Real Wild Child: Video
    Anthology and Psychic TV: Black Joy.

    Columbia/TriStar has Animal (Uncut/ Special Edition) now listed as
    cancelled. As with all out of print titles please check the rescheduled
    list to see if there are replacements coming up.
