Doing a Panda online scan it came up with this:

    "Potentially unwanted tool:Application/MyWebSearch
    Not disinfected \Nero-7.8.5.0_eng_update.exe[Toolbar.exe]
    "

This was downloaded directly from Ahead so is Nero now installing spyware?

Thanks for the reply, I know it's fairly easy to get rid of it but was
surprised it was in a Nero package.

Send the file to VirusTotal to have it checked against several anti-spam
products. Signatures used to detect pests are often not unique enough
to guarantee that they will never match on a different file, just like
hash codes are not unique. Since anti-virus programs are scanning files
in which polymorphism is used by viruses to hide each iteration of
itself, AV programs end up with huge numbers of signatures so false
positives cannot be avoided. Polymorphism vaporizes when a program is
loaded into memory. The online scan you perform using their ActiveX
scanner is an on-demand scanner (i.e., it scans files). It is not an
on-access (realtime) scanner that also monitors what gets loaded into
    memory.

You might also want to contact both Panda and Ahead to inform them of
the possible virus detection. It is possible that the file is detected
so Ahead would be very interested in fixing the problem. If it is a
false positive, both should be alerted so Panda fixes their signature
and so Ahead makes sure Panda fixes their screwup.
