    Hello Everybody,

I have a MS Word XP document that has a frame around it. I'm trying
to put a light gray bar with black type across the page from the left
side of the frame to the right side. The problem I'm having is that
the light grey bar only goes as far as the width of the text which
doesn't go completely across the page. I've tried adding spaces or
tabs, but I cant get the barr all the way across and still keep the
text centered. I know it can be done with Word Art, but I'd like to
do it with standard text in the document.

    Please Help!

    Thanks!

You might try to insert a table (one cell high x one cell wide). This will
put in a cell/table that will stretch the length of the page. Right click
on the cell, choose Borders & Shading, click the Shading tab, and select the
    color you want.
